I have great internet. Around 85 MBPS download. I live on the west coast of the USA (near PBE servers). Is it just classic PBE being slow or did I screw something up already? Client says ETA for the patch is 400 minutes. I'm trying not to be impatient but I am super excited!:) Thanks.

I realize the inconvenience that you are experiencing while playing League of Legend games after Windows 10 anniversary Update is installed. I will certainly help you.

The issue seem to be a compatibility issue.

To assist you better please provide us the following information:

• Do you receive any error messages? If yes, please specify.

• From where you installed the game? Is it from Windows store or from any other online store?

• Are you facing the same issue with any other games?

Kindly follow the steps mentioned below:

Method 1: Uninstall and Reinstall:

Try to Uninstall and Reinstall the game and check whether the issue still persist or not.

Method 2: Try to run the game in Compatible Mode:

1. Right-click on the Game Setup file and click on ‘properties’.
2. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 7/8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.
3. Once this is done, restart the computer and check whether the issue still persist or not.

If the issue still persist then,

Method 3: Install the latest versions of the game that is compatible with Windows 10.

If the issue still persist, then please contact the manufacturer of the game or the website from where you downloaded.

As per your description, it seems that the particular game is not compatible with the Anniversary Update of Windows 10.

Please try to perform Method 2 that I posted on my last response and check whether it works or not.

If the issue still persist, then please contact the game manufacturer or the website from where you downloaded the game.

I have the exact same problem since yesterday, also because of the windows 10 update. To answer some of the questions left unanswered: Yes it only happens while playing League of Legends (and not Overwatch on max settings for example), and yes I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. The only way to stop the freeze is to manually hold down the power button so PLEASE FIX THIS! I was able to finish my last League game however using the compatibility mode for Windows 8, I don't know if this fixed the issue completely but it's something for now. I also contacted Riot Support about this.

The Issue did not get resolved. There is a fix, but the problem is introduced by the Anneversiry Update. Randomly enabling performance needy tools by default is simply a stupid idea. Please revert this.

Exactly, and even though the fix resolved the freeze, I still have severe frame drops and performance drops during the 5 seconds that League of Legends goes from the client's champion selection screen to the in-game loading screen. (This is very noticable when I'm talking to my friends on Discord because during this time their voices start to stutter and I can't understand anything they say).

Before the Windows update I didn't have a single issue! (I have a gaming laptop that should be able to handle a lot).
