Warcraft 1.28 Patch Download

Where can I download warcraft 3 frozen throne 1.28.1 patch? My automatic download works fine but I get a failure to apply message. When the last patch came out I was able to find it and install it manually from one of Blizzard's pages. Any help would be appreciated!

You can download the old client still from your battle.net account management and install the older version. From there, launch the client as admin, click the hourglass to pick your gateway, then click battle.net. You might see an 'Oops something broke' error at the end, but the client should start up from there.

Hopefully this might help a few folks. I run WC3 on windows xp, and it kept prompting me to 'run as' and select a user. I kept selecting the default user, and it failed with 'there was an error applying this update'. It only worked after I unchecked the box to 'protect my pc and computer against unauthorized activity.' Right under where it wants you to select a user. Then it started processing the patch.

I am unable to get this patch. It just fails to download every time. Is there a place to download the patch on the web?

There is a place to download it on the support pages but it's still pointing to patch 1.27b.
I'm hoping that the link will be updated soon and we'll also hear from the classic team regarding what causes these download errors.

and contrary to the last message, i was able to successfully download the patch, but when i try to restart the game i receive the message 'There was an error applying the upgrade' and can't access bnet. i've tried switching servers as well as reinstalling the game, but no dice. anyone have any advice?

Blizzard has stated they are still performing maintenance. Go to bed, it'll probably work tomorrow.

The manual 1.27b patch is not the new 1.28 obviously so dont think its gonna work :D

I'm stuck at 'WAITING FOR OTHER PLAYERS' infinitely.

when are steam tanks and the blademaster gonna get a nerf btw?

I can't change brightness level in options also... It is impossible to change it. Also i wonder when will You guys fix leaver bug (sometimes when a player suddenly leave the game, hero controlled by You is impossible to control over 30 seconds).

After new update i cant open Options in game ;( The game hangs when enter options.

Same bug as above, cant open Options menu and game is in 4:3 on my 16:9 screen which looks awful...

I cannot even update the damn game, 30 USD well spent.

i am and have been using 1920*1080 full screen. despite that, i am using multiple monitors and i am super happy with the new patch.
right now, when im in a chat channel or else, it automatically kinda uses bordeless window mode, making it easy for me to go to other screens with my cursor. as soon as i find a game, it disables that, making it simple full screen mode like its supposed to be.
feels really comfortable, good job on that (if it was intended)

When you return to fullscreen mode, does it go to the MAX resolution possible? or at least the last resol you had configured before going to window mode.
What happens to me is that if I'm in window mode (1280x720) and I wanna go to full screen 1440x900, it goes full screen but 1280x720. I have to exit from Bnet and turn it manually to 1440x900.

I really hope to see a real update in a near future so that all players can get back to not having to use thirdparty arenas and being able to host ATs and custom games without being a professional hacker. And so on. :D
I know a lot of oldschool players that want to start playing wc3 again, but the game does not provide what you wish for it to be. If you migrated the whole game into the rest of the bnet-solution I think it would have chances to become a great game as it should, once more. Remaster this !@#$! Please! :)

hm my resolution remains unchanged the whole time. as i mentioned, if im in the menu or chat channels, my cursor can move freely to my next monitor (Like window mode). when i join an actual game, it cannot (full screen mode).

generally i dont start or select window mode, i just use normal full screen mode. it somehow automatically gives me the advantage of window mode when not being in an actual game.

not being able to change brightness (gamma) is real pain for me, damn game is simply too dark on default, i try to use one program from dota utilities web site to change gamma outside game and when i check slider in options (gamma slider) it has been moved but brightness remain same (on my backup of 1.27 patch brightness changes but on 1.28 it will not) this is serious problem!!

For all people where cant set there gamma level, here is your fix for it.:
1. make sure you have a shortcut of your wc3 tft. exe (on your deskop or wherever you like)
2. Right- click on that shortcut
3. click 'properties'
4. Now you see something like: 'Target: 'C:Program Files GamesFrozen Throne.exe' on the upper window
5. Just add '-nativefullscr' with a space between after that 'C:Program Files GamesFrozen Throne.exe'.
6. it will look like this 'C:Program Files GamesFrozen Throne.exe' -nativefullscr
7. You can now start the game and set your gamma again.
